You already know me as "The Herbal Mama" and now you can call me, Dayna ~ Owner of Flora Folk Ink Tattoo Company, Yay! If you know me personally, and have been following along on my journey, you already know how much I love getting tattoos and how therapeutic they have been for me.
Now, I'm heading down a whole new path of adventures in the tattoo industry, on the other side of the machine. In the past 6 months, I have worked tirelessly on learning and educating myself to understand tattoo elements and build a solid foundation of tattooing. I recently took the Fine Line Tattoo Course through BeautyInkstitue and completed all my studies, receiving a certificate in Fine Line Tattooing. Now that I’ve obtained my practitioner's license, AND secured a space, everything is falling into place quickly!

My Story
If you asked me what I wanted to be when I was a child, I would have likely said 3 things: a ballerina, a firefighter, and an author. Then I grew up, and thought I would be a Psychologist, then a Cosmetologist, and well, life happens. I became a Mother, a Creator, and someone looking for a purpose in life. I became, Me, Dayna.
As a child, I told myslef one thing that I promised to always do, always be creative. In every way, I hold so tightly to that aspiration.
My first tattoo, at the young age of 18, was received when I was experiencing a lot of pain that I was not in control of and getting a tattoo seemed like it was my choice to choose the pain but out of this pain, came something beautiful and meaningful. I was hooked! Fast forward .... years later, about 40 tattoos more, and a lot of life experiences, I chose to take a path that seemed like life just kept leading me to. Become a tattoo artist. I took the leap, made the dedication, and continue to work daily. I keep my mind open to learning and I try to consume as much as I can when it comes to tattoo theory. I'm busy planning the next steps and can't wait to share this journey with you!
Why did I choose "Flora Folk" for my name? I have always been drawn to folklore art and style, it really resonates with my soul. Whether it's my Bohemian heritage or being drawn to the Indigenous culture I think truly, you need to feel art that deep within. Flora seemed so fitting to me, the tough little girl who grew up running free in the open fields on my grandparents farm, my love for flowers and gardening is engraved into me because of my Grandmother especially. The two really encapsulated my personality and is the perfect fit for what I inspire to create!
